Two-way messaging helps communicate in the event of radio failure and if necessary the alert button can be activated to inform people on the ground that assistance is required. The message will be routed through to the ViewPoint application and a nominated SMS/cell phone number/s so that a rescue mission is actioned.

Drawing on the reliability of the Inmarsat satellite constellation, the Osprey Wings solution can also be used to track friends and family when in flight using Google and Bing maps.
